Composite Line Post Insulator – Pole line

Composite insulators are more suitable for use in high pollution areas, have higher mechanical strength, are lighter than porcelain insulators, and require less cleaning and maintenance.

    High Voltage Post Insulator

These line post insulators are designed for service voltages from 69 kV up to 161 kV, with custom-engineered versions ideal for 230 kV and above. CECI provides an extensive selection of both standard and tailor-made insulator solutions to suit the unique requirements of your power and utility infrastructure.
These outdoor polymer-encased surge arresters are highly weather-resistant and pollution-resistant, and comply with IEC standards. Test reports and volume supply options are available.

  • Different Types of Porcelain Insulators

    Porcelain Insulator

Porcelain Post insulators—also called line post insulators or station post insulators—are high-voltage (HV) devices engineered to IEC, ANSI and other international standards for power systems up to 1 100 kV. Typically molded as a single-piece pillar from either high-strength porcelain or advanced composite materials (silicone rubber), they combine excellent mechanical strength, weather resistance and long-term reliability.

In overhead distribution and transmission networks, line post insulators secure conductors in place of traditional pin insulators for voltages up to 69 kV. Five common designs meet diverse mounting and load requirements:

    • Bollard top line post

    • Vertical clip-on top line post

    • Horizontal (stud-mounted) clip-on top line post

    • Horizontal (gain-base) line post

    • Support post insulator

Each variant features a specialized clamp unit that grips the conductor—either vertically or horizontally—ensuring stable insulation under mechanical stress.

Within substations and switchyards, station post insulators are installed vertically to support and insulate transformers, switchgear and busbars. For extra-high voltage applications, multiple post insulators can be stacked into a composite assembly, effectively withstanding combined bending, compression and electrical stresses.
