Description

Stud bolts—also known as double-threaded bolts or simply studs—come in two main styles: full-thread bolts, which feature threading along their entire length, and standard stud bolts with thread only at each end. These versatile fasteners are essential for securing pole-tower lines and crossarms in overhead power distribution.

In pole-tower applications, full-thread studs pass completely through the tower’s flange, allowing both ends to be locked in place with nuts and washers for maximum stability. For blind-end installations, one end of the stud connects to an eye nut, creating a secure anchor point without protruding fastener tails.

When mounting dual crossarms on a pole tower, stud bolts maintain the precise spacing between arms and clamp them firmly to the structure. By locking two crossarms and their bracket assembly in unison, these double-threaded bolts ensure reliable support for conductors, insulators, and other hardware—making stud bolts a cornerstone in the design and construction of robust transmission and distribution systems.
