Porcelain Insulator

Porcelain Post insulators—also called line post insulators or station post insulators—are high-voltage (HV) devices engineered to IEC, ANSI and other international standards for power systems up to 1 100 kV. Typically molded as a single-piece pillar from either high-strength porcelain or advanced composite materials (silicone rubber), they combine excellent mechanical strength, weather resistance and long-term reliability.

In overhead distribution and transmission networks, line post insulators secure conductors in place of traditional pin insulators for voltages up to 69 kV. Five common designs meet diverse mounting and load requirements:

  • Bollard top line post

  • Vertical clip-on top line post

  • Horizontal (stud-mounted) clip-on top line post

  • Horizontal (gain-base) line post

  • Support post insulator

Each variant features a specialized clamp unit that grips the conductor—either vertically or horizontally—ensuring stable insulation under mechanical stress.

Within substations and switchyards, station post insulators are installed vertically to support and insulate transformers, switchgear and busbars. For extra-high voltage applications, multiple post insulators can be stacked into a composite assembly, effectively withstanding combined bending, compression and electrical stresses.

Our Factory - 16+ Years OEM Transmission Insulator Manufacturer

Description

Porcelain insulators (commonly known as guy insulators, low voltage insulators) serve a dual purpose in overhead power grids: they both electrically isolate guy wires and mechanically support them, ensuring that terminal poles and end poles are securely fixed. Selecting the right guy insulators, along with compatible line hardware, is critical to preventing pole collapse.

The CECI range of porcelain insulators is carefully designed to eliminate the risk of unexpected current flow in guy wires. As a leading manufacturer of power line insulators, CECI not only provides high-quality porcelain guy insulators(ceramic power pole insulators), but also provides end-to-end support in design, production, testing and installation to help you achieve safety and reliability in your transmission and distribution projects.
